“Iedul Adha” it’s time to share the happiness to each other
“Iedul Adha” is celebrated on the tenth day of “dzulhijjah”, the Islamic month according to the lunar Islamic calendar. “Iedul Adha” is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslim worldwide or an Islamic festival to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to follow Allah’s command to sacrifice his son Ishmael (Samuel).
Muslim around the world observes this event. For that reason, Muslim who can afford to do so also sacrifices an animal. At ‘Iedul adha’ many Muslim going to the Mosque for prayers, dressed in their best clothes, and thanking Allah for All the blessing they have received and open house in their home. As a Muslim, I and my family do like another Muslims on the world.
The night before the feast, I with my friend or my family usually echoed each “takbir” on the road which is a sign of the start of “iedul adha”. Crowded traffic and parades also participate welcoming the feast, because that is a habit which made by Muslims in my hometown.
In my hometown the most important and special event of “iedul adha” is Just like the Muslim in the world. After prays, people are usually asking forgiveness by each other. On this day all the Muslim also forfeit their domestic animal like sheep, goat and cow representing Abraham’s forfeit. when slaughtering sacrificial animals are carried out by Muslims who are able and assisted by other Muslims that only able to help with services, Those make a moment that unites the good relationship. And of course, usually there are special foods associated with this celebration. Such as “Eid mubarok”, we ate some special foods like “ketupat” and “opor ayam” has become a habit and a tradition typical food of major holidays of Muslim. “Iedul Adha” is one of two of feast is the most awaited moment, because in addition we can clean ourselves and we can also to gather with our family.
A lot of things to Enjoy of this festival, such as I can gathered with family, can got a great meal, could participate in the committee of qurban implementation, etc. when someone ask me “do you think such festival are important for a society?” I think this festival is most important for a society, because “Iedul adha” made the people can feel a pleasure. Not only rich people are happy, but all the people of each circle can feel happiness. “Iedul Adha” also teaches us sincerity; we can share the happiness to each other.
